WODSS Hosts Developmental Education Student Floorball Tournament

Thanks to W-O’s Physical Education Leadership students for hosting the Developmental Education Student Floorball Tournament on Thursday, March 2. Students from across WRDSB secondary schools came to W-O to participate in a fun floorball tourney organized by our Gym Leadership class. Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a fantastic day of activity and meeting new friends! Below are just a few pictures from the event.

Optimist Youth Achievement Award Winners 2017

Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School congratulates our Optimist Youth Achievement Award winners who were recognized through the Optimist clubs of New Dundee and Wilmot Township on February 23 and 28, 2017. The purpose of these awards is to bring recognition to youth that have demonstrated exemplary behaviour, made positive contributions, and as a result could be considered role models for others. These are individuals who display a positive attitude, strong work ethic, respect and compassion for others, and set a good example for their peers. Congratulations to: Amanda Hamilton and Evan Rolleman, recognized by the Wilmot Optimist Club; and to the following students awarded at the New Dundee Optimist Club: Alicia Bausmer, Katie Cameron, Amy Darkes, Conrad Dotzert, Serena Laverty, Dan Otterbein, Abby Toman, Seth Wenger, Heather Williamson and Damon Woolvett.

Waterloo-Oxford DSS Appassionata Choir Performs at Trinity Lutheran Church

Our own Appassionata Choir of over 50 talented Waterloo-Oxford singers gave a beautiful performance at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 26, 2017. The choir, conducted by teacher Ms Susan Millar-Idsinga, sang three moving pieces that garnered them a standing ovation from the congregation.
