WELCOME BACK!

The excitement is building as we prepare to welcome our students back to school next week!  The staggered start schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 7th: Grade 9’s and 10’s
  • Wednesday, September 8th: Grades 11’s and 12’s 

Due to the staggered start, if you are a grade 11 or 12 student taking a grade 10 course that is scheduled during period A or B in first semester, you are welcome to join us on Tuesday, September 7th as well.  This also applies to a grade 10 student taking a grade 11 course, you can join us again on Wednesday, September 8th.

Regular bus transportation will be provided for all eligible students on the first day.  

We have been working hard to prepare for your safe return to school and we are excited to see you in the coming days! 

Timetables showing all your courses will be distributed in your class on the first day of school.

A couple of important health and safety reminders for the first day:

  • Please remember that all students must self-screen every day before attending school using the Ontario School Screener Tool and confirm that they have completed the Ontario COVID-19 School Screener and received clearance to attend school (Green Check) using the WRDSB Secondary Student Verification Portal.
  • When attending in person, students will be permitted to enter the school after 7:30 am (classes start at 8:10 am) and must proceed directly to their classroom. 
    • Please remember there will be no student drop-off/pick-up at the front of the school. The front entrance will be locked. 
    • Students who are dropped off must enter through the parking lot cafeteria door. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of the school day and proceed DIRECTLY to their classes
    • Bussed students will enter through the bus bay doors and proceed DIRECTLY to their classes
    • Walkers may choose the cafeteria door or bus bay doors depending on where they are coming from and proceed DIRECTLY to their classes
  • Students are not permitted to gather in the hallways or other common spaces.  Please pay special attention to directional arrows, staircase directions, and capacity limitations to common spaces such as washrooms and offices.
  • Students are required to wear a mask at all times when inside the building, and portables.
  • During the lunch break students may either:

 (1) Eat their food brought from home in their first-period classroom and remain in the period 1 classroom until it is time to move to period 2,

OR

 (2) Students may leave the building anytime during the lunch period. When outside, they must physically distance themselves from others, avoid congregating and be respectful to our community. Students may re-enter the school 5 minutes prior to the start of the afternoon class. Students must be masked and sanitize their hands upon re-entry.

  • Lockers are not available at this time for student use and students must bring personal belongings to and from school daily.
