On Wednesday, September 25th, Waterloo-Oxford and One Book, One Community are pleased to present author Joanna Goodman in the library from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Her novel, The Home for Unwanted Girls, looks at the complexities of 1950s rural Quebec living and the tumultuous relationship between French and English Canadians.  After an unexpected pregnancy, Maggie is forced to give up her daughter Elodie. When the government decides to fund psychiatric hospitals instead of orphanages, Elodie and many others are declared mentally ill, drastically changing their lives.

Everyone is welcome to join us in the Library.  There are a few visitor parking spots at the front of the school and additional spots at the back of the school.  Please do not park in the bus turnaround between the two schools.
