On February 10 all Grade Ten Academic History students will attend an assembly to hear Gwynne Dyer speak about what is happening in Syria and Iraq including the growth of ISIS and Canada’s role in this conflict. Mr. Dyer is a world famous journalist who covers International Affairs and his work is currently carried in over 110 newspapers around the world. The Grade Tens will be joined by the Grade Eleven History students from CHW-3MI, Ancient History, CHA-3UI, American History and the Grade Twelve Writer’s Craft, classes. This is an enrichment opportunity for all the students who attend and will serve as a good preview of what it will be like to be taught at University or College. In fact, Mr. Dyer will be speaking at Wilfrid Laurier University on the evening of February 10th to an assembly of Undergraduate and Graduate students. Parents who can get into the school for the 1pm talk, in the Cafetorium, are welcome to join us.
