Girls Rugby Wins Semi-Finals to Advance to WCSSAA Championship

Congratulations to the W-O Girls Rugby Team who defeated Bluevale 22 – 0 on Wednesday, May 11 to earn their way to the WCSSAA championship! Good luck to the team as they face KCI on Tuesday for the WCSSAA title!

New York City Trip

From May 3-7 49 students from WO’s Marketing, Travel & Tourism and World Issues classes visited New York City. Highlights of the trip included the 9/11 Memorial Museum, Amateur Night at the Apollo theatre in Harlem, an NBC Studio tour, and a New York Yankees baseball game. Despite some wet and cool weather, a great time was had by all taking in the sites, and experiences of the city. Planning has already begun for next year’s trip!

Discovery Days at the Western University

On May 6, six Biology students ( Micah Kipfer, Rachel Watson-Zehr, Kristin Ropp, Kaite Drake, Grace Denney and Melissa Jantzi.) travelled to The Western University for Discovery Days in the Health Sciences. They participated in a Keynote Speaker lecture in the morning on Discovering Genetic Diseases related to DNA packaging in cells, 2 workshops of their choice in a Health Science related field, and a Career Panel Q and A with a pediatric surgeon, a family GP, nurses, and a professor from Western.
