Students play, teachers learn during May 5 PD Day

While students were away from the classroom on Friday, May 5, more than 1,000 secondary teachers hit local movie theatres—to learn. District 24-Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) members participated in a TED talk-inspired session, delivered by their colleagues and community members as part of a day of learning on a range of topics.

WODSS Girls Rugby Win Quarter Final Game

Congratulations to the W-O Girls Rugby team on an impressive 51-0 win over Huron Heights to advance to the semi-finals. The team played at Waterloo-Oxford on Wednesday, May 10 and dominated the game from the beginning to end with strong showings by all players. Wishing the team all the best in the semi-finals on Friday.

W-O Boy’s Varsity Soccer Advances to Quarter Finals

Congratulations to the WODSS Boy’s Varsity Soccer team on their victory Tuesday, May 9 moving them to the next round of playoffs. The team won against Forest Heights Collegiate 2 – 1 at Woodside Park with goals scored by W-O players Cameron Anderson and Zach Witt. Come and cheer on the team when they take on Eastwood Collegiate on Thursday, May 11 at 3:15 p.m. at ECI. Good luck boys!

W-O Student Wins Legacy Scholarship

Congratulations to Miranda Schultz on winning the St. Jerome’s University Legacy Scholarship award for 2017! Miranda’s scholarship award is for $5,000 for her first year of studies at St. Jerome’s University. The Legacy Scholarship Program was established to provide exemplary students with meaningful financial assistance for their pursuit of post-secondary education.  Recipients of a Legacy scholarship will be leaders who create footprints, citizens who pay tribute to others, and individuals who enjoy fellowship with other members of the community.  Waterloo-Oxford is proud of Miranda, her contributions and success!

WODSS Hosts Spring Concert: Fanfare 2017

Waterloo-Oxford hosted a fantastic evening of music featuring talented performances by: Junior and Senior Band, Appassionata, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Men’s Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Pipes and Drums, and Stage Band. Great work by all performers for a full house and appreciative audience!
