It’s hard to believe we are already at that time of year, Commencement is coming up on Friday, June 20th!

We wanted to update you on a few items:

Crossing the Stage Cards
Every student who is crossing the stage needs to complete this Google Form, by Friday, June 13th, 2025.

Grad Breakfast
The Grad Breakfast will be happening on Tuesday, June 17th – from 7:45-8:30am in the WO Cafeteria. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Commencement Gowns
If you have signed up for Commencement; gowns, caps and tassels will be ready for pick up at the Grad Breakfast on the 17th. If you cannot make it that day, you may also pick up your gown in the main office on Wednesday(18th) or Thursday(19th) of that week, or alternatively on the night of Commencement at the Centre in the Square.

Tickets 
All tickets for friends and family should be pre-purchased directly through the Centre in the Square website. There are currently less than 100 tickets left, so if you do require an extra one, now is the time to buy. Please note that because it is assigned seating, any extra guests may not be able to sit near your original block of tickets.

Parking
There are several parking lots in close vicinity to the Centre in the Square. Including an above and underground lot, right at the venue.

Centre in the Square – Checking In
Doors to the venue will open at 6:00 pm. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm. Students may arrive as early as 5:45pm – (if they wish). Please enter through the main doors of the Centre in the Square and students will be directed to their waiting area.
If you have digital tickets on your phone, you will be scanned in by the ushers at the door.
If you need to pick up your paper tickets – the box office in the main lobby will be open at 6:00pm.
If you have tickets on hold for you, they too will be waiting at the box office.

Centre in the Square – Once Inside
WO staff in black Commencement Gowns will be there to help guide you in the right direction.
Centre in the Square Ushers will be happy to show you to your seat, once you are ready.
Light refreshments will be available for purchase in the side lobby. (Please no outside food or beverages).

Flowers & Gifts
New this year, if you are interested in purchasing a little gift for your grad, there will be a vendor on site that night with fresh flowers and teddy bears. If you are interested, you can preorder from their website ahead of time. Or alternatively, there will be some extra’s available on the night of the event.

If you haven’t signed up yet, and you would like to, please come and see Ms. Houston in the main office.

 Tickets Now on Sale 

We are please to announce that ticket sales for Commencement are now live on the Centre on the Square website. A few things to know:

Tickets

  • All tickets can be purchased directly through the Centre in the Square.
  • You may choose digital tickets, or to pick up hard copy tickets from the Box Office.
  • If you require accessible seating, please call the Box Office 519-578-1570, and purchase them over the phone.
  • Seats will be assigned as soon as you purchase them. If you require additional seats after the fact, it is likely they will be in another section of the venue.
  • Any refund or ticketing issues can be dealt with directly with the Centre in the Square.
  • There are no ticket limits at this time.
  • Tickets will be sold until the night of the event (assuming there are still seats available).
  • Grad’s do not require a ticket. Their Gown registration covers their ticket cost.

Cap and Gown Registration

A reminder that Commencement and Gown Registration is due by March 27th, 2025. You can locate the gown sign up under the Products Tab on School Day.

Congratulations Class of 2025 !!!

We are thrilled to announce that Commencement will take place on Friday, June 20th at 7:00 pm at the Centre in the Square, 101 Queen St. N., Kitchener.

What is involved with Commencement?

Commencement is a formal event, to celebrate the successful completion of secondary school and “commencement” into the next stage of life. All members of the Class of 2025 are invited to cross the stage that evening. Other highlights will include the Principal’s message, the Valedictorian address, and the final Charge to the Grads.

Specifics

  • Graduates are asked to register their intention to attend by signing up for a souvenir cap and gown – by March 27th.
  • It is very important that we get this information on or before March 27th, 2025 as the final gown order must be placed that week.
  • The cost for the cap and gown is $40, payable on School Day.
  • All tickets for friends and family are being sold directly through the Centre in the Square. They are not on sale just yet – but we will advise you as soon as they are. Grads do not require a ticket from the Centre in the Square.
