Waterloo Oxford would like to provide you with an update concerning graffiti that targeted Wellesley Public School earlier this month.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing. The incident is being treated as a hate crime. Police determined that there was no validity to the threat of violence made against the school. We encourage anyone with any information relating to the incident to contact police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The graffiti is very concerning to Police, as well as the community of Wellesley. We are hopeful since we are a close-knit community that someone will have some information that can help Police with their investigation.
A Town Hall meeting will be held at Wellesley Public School with the Waterloo Regional Police on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m.
The public are invited to discuss Hate Crimes, trends, reporting and how we can tackle these issues together.
Bring your questions and concerns to Police, and your School for an evening of education, discussion and Community.
