Please find below the operational model for the Staff Development Learning Days (SD).

STUDENT SUPPORT AND  STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS

Feb 16th, March 23rd, April 27th and May 18th, 2022

Time Period
8:10 am – 10:45 am

Remote – ASYNCHRONOUS Learning

Students are to log-in to their class VLEs* and complete the work provided by their teachers for all of their courses.

Plan to spend approximately 35 minutes on each course.  

10:45 – 11:25 am LUNCH
11:25 am – 12:02 pm Period 1 (Block A)
12:05 – 12:42 pm Period 2 (Block C)
12:44 – 1:21 pm  Period 3 (Block B)
1:23 – 2:00 pm Period 4 (Block D)

Learning in the afternoon is REMOTE and SYNCHRONOUS.  Students will be expected to be available to meet with their teacher and classes as directed.

Two minute break between each afternoon period.

*VLE – Virtual Learning Environment (i.e. Google Classroom or Brightspace)

Student Attendance Process

  • Teachers will track student attendance in both the morning (asynchronous) and afternoon (synchronous) learning blocks.
  • If students “attend” one or the other, they are marked present for the day.  If students “attend” neither, they will be marked absent in Trillium.

Instructions for ACE 

  • ACE classrooms are open for the day.
  • Parents can choose to keep students at home.

 Student In-Person Attendance

  • Students are encouraged to work from home and should only be attending if invited by their teacher(s).
  • Students who choose to attend in the AM will be provided a supervised study space in the cafeteria.
  • Students who choose to attend in person in the PM will arrange meeting times with their teachers and be supervised in the cafeteria for the remainder of the time.
