Taylor Erb (Grade 10) has become one of the nine provincial winners of the 2021 Student Achievement Awards (sponsored by the Ontario Secondary Schools Teachers’ Federation).

Her touching short story, ‘The One Who Paints Rocks’, exemplified this year’s theme: Kindness is a Renewable Resource. It placed first in the Grade 9-10: Academic Prose & Poetry Division.

As a result of her compassionate efforts and articulate writing skills, she will not only receive $1000, but will be honoured in a virtual ceremony by OSSTF President Harvey Bischof on March 15 at the Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly.

In addition, Sonia Kagolovskaya’s moving instrumental piece ‘Eternal’ (Media Category) and Bethany Austen’s impressive short story ‘The Circling Spell of Kindness’ (Grade 11-12: University Prose and Poetry) ended up as provincial finalists in their respective divisions.

Congratulations to you all!
