October 29th, 2026
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Grade 9 students are encouraged to take part in Take Our Kids To Work Day (TOKTWD).
Participate In Take Our Kids To Work Day
Parents, families and caregivers should check with their employers to see if they are participating in TOKTWD. Once approved, they are invited to bring their Grade 9 student to work to take part in planned activities and job shadowing experiences. Students may also spend the day in the workplace of a relative, family friend, or colleague.
If a student chooses not to participate, they are expected to attend school and follow their regular class schedule.
About Take Our Kids to Work Day
Take Our Kids to Work Day is a long-standing experiential learning opportunity that allows Grade 9 students to explore a day in the life of a workplace. It offers students a valuable opportunity to gain real-world experience, connect classroom learning to career pathways, and engage in meaningful conversations with family and caregivers about future goals.
