Over the last several weeks, grade nine members of Drama Council have been busy working with guest artist and actor Gary Kirkham. Andrew Galt, Lillian Hammer, Elsa Davis, Taylor Gruber and Eva Pearson learned a lot about how to create and manipulate a life-sized puppet. They created a puppet out of recycled bottles, saran wrap, duct tape, mop handles and LED lighting. They then practised making him move as a character.

The students showcased their very life-like puppet at the very popular Unsilent Night outdoor art installation in Galt Cambridge Dec. 7. Children and adults alike lined up to get a hug from the puppet Georgie.
