Severe Weather During Exam Week

• Check the school board website at www.wrdsb.ca for any announced cancellations.  Click on the link for:  Bus Delays and Cancellations.
• Should any WRDSB buses be cancelled or secondary school closed, ALL exams in secondary schools will be ‘shifted’ one day. (example-if a closure of a school or cancellation of buses occur on Monday, January 29, those exams would be shifted to Tuesday, January 30 and January 30th exams would be shifted to Wednesday, January 31st etc.)
• Please note – the PA Day scheduled for February 2nd will NOT be moved due to inclement weather cancellations.

Exam Information for Students

Buses will run at the regular times during exams.

Exam Information

Students are required to be present on the assigned date for all their examinations and summative evaluations, unless a medical certificate is provided or the student has received administration approval in advance of the evaluation.  Vacations, trips abroad, jobs etc. are not acceptable reasons for missing exams or final evaluations.

Be Prepared for your Exams

It is the student’s responsibility to know the DATE, TIME, ROOM and SECTION of all their examinations.

The exam schedule is posted on the WO Website – http://wod.wrdsb.ca

Please be in the exam room at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the examination.

  • Textbooks should be handed to the supervisor of your exam.
  • Cell phones and all electronic devices must be left in your locker.
  • Leave all other study materials in your locker.
  • Absolutely no talking will be permitted during the period of the examination. Violation of this policy could result in the surrender of the paper.
  • Bring your own pens/pencils.
  • Water is permitted in exams.
  • The corridors are out of bounds during examination times.

Please be considerate of your fellow students who are writing a longer examination.

Tips for Writing Exams

Are you feeling stressed about upcoming exams? Worried you will walk into the room and your mind will go blank, or that you won’t finish on time or know how to answer one of the questions? Guess what? That is totally normal, but we are also here to help.

Please join Brian Douglas, Social Worker, and Tim Schleich, Child and Youth Worker on January 24 in the Library Seminar Room for a Lunch and Learn all about test anxiety and how to best prepare yourself for your exams. Bring your own lunch or enjoy the pizza that will be provided.
