In response to the passing of the October 18, 2018 Smoke Free Ontario legislation, smoking anywhere within 20 meters of all school board properties is now banned. This includes Waterloo Oxford Secondary School’s unofficial smoking area.

Consequences of smoking on school board property, or within the 20 meter prohibited zone, will result in school suspensions and Region of Waterloo enforced fines of $305.00.

Please note, the distance from WRDSB property to the other side of Snyder’s Road is much less than 20 meters.  Crossing to the other side of the road will not be an option as students will be in violation of the legislation and subject to consequences.
