Waterloo Oxford Secondary School is partnering with Waterloo Region’s “One Book, One Community” program and hosting an award-winning author on Sept. 27th from 1:15pm -2:15pm in our very own library. This year’s author is Wayne Grady, is a translator, editor, and author of over 14 novels, including Emancipation Day, winner of the Amazon.ca “First Novel Award” in 2013.

Mr. Grady will be at the WO library to discuss and answer questions about  what it’s like to be an author, the challenges of the writing process, and the moving narrative of his featured novel, Emancipation Day. He will also be signing copies of this novel for those that are interested in a gift for themselves, or others.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to connect with this acclaimed writer, explore the characters in his book, and discover the creative journey that an author like Wayne Grady embarks on when they tell their stories.

Questions about this event can be directed to Susan Grise in the WO Library. (susan_grise@wrdsb.ca)
